Is Garlic supposed to make you smell?

You’ve only just realised how small a clove of garlic is and how it can make you smell - do you never cook?! :p

It’s raw garlic that seems to hang about the most on me.

As a top tip, for those that get garlic on your fingers whilst cooking, rub your hands against a metal fish!!!

Yes, really.

Apparently, excessive quantities of cinnamon can flavour your man glue.

The more garlic the better, absolutely love the stuff will happily eat a jar of the brined ones same with olives.
Use tonnes of garlic in my cooking always 4+, make a nice garlic curry that's got two whole bulbs worth in it.

I just use a lemon wedge and rub it on my fingers. Was a trick my Nan taught me and it really does work. I've found the fresher the lemon the better.

Edit: After I've been cutting it I mean. I wouldn't advice rubbing yourself over with several lemons if you're sweating the stuff... though different strokes...

I always use a metal garlic stone/bar after cutting/touching garlic, works great to remove the smell from your hands, which in turn goes onto your clothes etc..

you can just man handle your taps if you want a free alternative :)

This, rubbing your hands on stainless steel will get rid of the pong, nothing will solve the garlic breath issue though.

I don't think it's supposed to, like that's not what it was created or evolved for.
It does though.

Gets in your pores when you secrete all that oily goodness all over the place.
Guy i lived with at uni would cook with 20 cloves in his pasta. He would stink like a garlicky dustbin för days :p

I like to make a spaghetti bolognaise with Garlic.

Main constituents of the sauce are a full tube of tomato puree, 2 tins of pomodorino cherry tomato's, bit of Celery & carrot, olive oil & various herbs & a bit of red wine.

I throw about 10-12 cloves in.

It serves 4 :)

handle smelly stuff and it follows that you smell.

i grew hundreds of them a few years back, a variety called thermidrome.
Its actually easy to grow because the dreaded slug dont like them lol.
I had never tried such nice garlic and gave most of it away to friends who also noted how it was particularly nice garlic

3 cloves per serving is pure deviancy.
