I like how Apple give you the chance to 'limit' ad tracking only, and not remove it. I guess they need a few more 79p's to disable it fully.

Well we’ve heard for years about the so-called Apple walled garden, so why not try and keep yourself out of the Google walled garden too?

If you believe that then you'll believe anything...data is just as valuable to Apple as to Google; just because Apple has a hardware arm which is also incredibly profitable, it doesn't mean that they don't generate an advertising profile about you.

I suggest you read some of Apple’s white papers on the subject. They really don’t care about your data, in fact much of it is stored on device rather than in a data centre.

Even their AI/Machine Learning efforts use differential privacy to completely anonymise individuals. They could provide much better services if they didn’t, but privacy is their line in the sand.

It's worth also noting, you can disable all their tracking and delete your entire history associated to your Google account.

that's because thats EXACTLY what the OP has done. there's nothing else to it.

He's now protesting you can break away from the "walled google garden" without realising how stupid that is as google isn't walled at all.

Google maps runs on both andoird and iOS. apple maps is walled and only runs on iOS. Silly OP

I pay for iCloud storage. For that I get email, calendar, contacts, photos, files, and any number of other features synced across all my devices. All for just 79p per month without having to give away all my data for Apple to sell adverting.

I watched a youtube video earlier on how to go through and methodically move away from all Google services, including removing historic data and changing it before removing to hide your tracks. This was a couple of hours ago. I just went to find it to post it here but the video has disappeared from my history and also been removed from youtube. I know there are a few like it but this one was very detailed indeed. I find it a little suspicious that the video has gone completely.

did you possibly remove your history so can't find it because of that? there's hundreds of videos on youtube detailing exactly what you've said, so to suggest google would delete that one video, but leave the rest is, well, i don't want to get banned for the word i'd use for someone that thinks like that.
