Is it acceptable for men to drink wine in pubs?

For a variety of reasons I've gone right off beer (and cider) right now so am looking for an alternative to drink and was thinking about wine, but it just feels wrong. Is it just my paranoia or would I really look completely ridiculous drinking a glass of wine when all my friends have pints?

What other acceptable man drinks are there?

FFS, what's the issue? Drink whatever you like and if you're friends are grown-up enough to deal with it then get new friends.
I often drink red wine in pubs. Its never been a problem (apart from getting a decent wine) and several of my mates have been converted. The only real problem is that there is less volume to wine so I tend to drink more/spend more and get a bit more drunk :)

with Coke?... woman tbh

hehe, it allows me to drink more ... Double JD and coke for £2.79 - can't complain!

I must admit that I like a special whiskey, but at the stage where it doesn't bother me and I can't taste the difference between a £25 whiskey and a £150 bottle.

Much like people who's taste pallet evolves to taste the difference between decent red wines etc

You need coke to help mask the taste of JD in an attempt to make it drinkable.

You do not drink Whisky with coke. If you do it is either blended (AKA bathwater) or Malt (AKA sacrilege).

I DO drink Whisky with Coke Aka Bathwater. I do it not to hide the taste, but to increase the time it takes to drink it.

For instance, I know that a shot of vodka will get me more drunk, but I would opt for the double Vodka and Lemonade so that I actually have something to drink, rather than just necking it.

That said, I do like neat Whisky and especially Brandy. Mmmmmm...Brandy

Tbh I wouldnt expect class at my age! Just out to drink :p
