I do not have OCD lol..and again germs was not my whole point, it is also unacceptable on others lawn :)....just simply mentioning as the above link demonstrated. But you are right there is a lot more then just Dog poop on that lawn.

Unacceptable. My front garden has no boundary fence/wall, and some local ******** thinks it's okay to let their dog crap there and then not bother picking it up. It doesn't happen very often, but that's not the point.
 
Have a word with him, be civil as you know he clears it up, just say you would prefer he didn't let his dog do it on your lawn at all.
 
If it was a one off, and the guy picked it up, I would not see it as too much of a problem as it seems insignificant given the bad things happening in the world every day!

However, in broader terms, technically he should have kept the dog under control IE using a lead to prevent the dog from trespassing on private property. If the dog was free to go on the lawn and take a dump, could he have been free to attack another pet or a child?

Dogs in the street should be on a lead and kept close at heel in my opinion.

We have someone on our estate that lets their small daughter take their full size border collie dog for walks. It is very often dragging her along and she is not strong enough to stop it. She also very often has it off the lead. I found said dog in our lounge one day as it had chased a cat down the street, down the side of our house and into the lounge via our open patio doors.

Whilst I accept the dog was friendly enough and not necessarily classed as dangerous to me in that instance, this cannot be said for the cat it chased or for all dogs and all situations.

What if it had caught the cat and killed it? Or what if it had entered the lounge and there was a crying baby (the kennel club openly admits that a dog will potentially see a flailing crying baby as prey).

Whilst on the surface of it, the situation in the OP seems benign, I think the wider underlying issues with dog owners thinking their dogs are harmless and therefore being complacent in their control is worthy of closer inspection.

My house doesn't get ruined or smell like dog, I clean my house daily. I do have to clean more but the many benefits of owning a dog outweighs this.

My dogs do not bark and are not dangerous. This applies to most dogs.

If someone is lonely enough to need a dog that sits there wondering why it's trapped in a house most of the day, they should be forced to go out and socialise with actual humans.

Most people who own dogs I know get out the house at least once a day for a walk with the dog. In my family it's made into an occasion. If anything owning a dog is very social.



Where did your very biased views come from?

On topic: I wouldn't be bothered but I'm a dog owner so I am obviously biased :).

You think it does not because you live there. Your guests will probably be too polite to mention it but the chances are your house does smell of dog. Its a bit like smokers who go outside for a cigarette and come inside thinking they left the smell outside. Meanwhile everyone they walk past thinks "dayuuum you stink!" :p

How many times do we hear this and then said dog goes and rips someones face off? The owner response is usually along the lines of " he has never done that before, you must have done something to make him do it!".

Well no - dogs are animals and therefore unpredictable and dangerous. Even the most well behaved dog can be loving and friendly for years and then flip like a switch in a second and attack.

True, most dogs do not do this, but all are capable of it. It is why I hate owner complacency with comments like "my dog is not dangerous".

No - your dog is dangerous, but it is well behaved. But it still needs you to remain vigilant.

I don't mind dogs, by the way, it is a lot of dog owners I generally have a problem with.
 
Well it's pretty obvious it's a no. It's not much different than walking onto someones lawn, basically intrusion with the bonus of leaving a present. The germs comments are hilarious, a Fox has probably come and crapped on the lawn many a time and Cats leave little bundles of treasure in your flower beds.
 
Of course it isn't acceptable, I've had Frank now for over 13 years walk him at least twice a day & have picked up every single one of his ***** & that's a hole heap of ****. I have never once let him **** on anybody elses property & Frank even goes kerbside when he wants to ****. :p

That said neighbourhood cats **** everywhere. I've considered buying an air rifle to resolve the cat **** problem.
 
Got to be said that when I walk Frank the people I see leaving there dogs **** are Posh people. Challenge me if you like but my house backs onto the houses that face the park & I've lived here 20 years. Me & my neighbour stand chatting **** outside his house, When you step outside his front gate you are in the park, Literally. Currently there are 2 women that walk there Labs who stand & chat one side of the park whilst there dogs wanders across the rest of the park having a ****.
I passed them on the path tuther day & said "That's one way of not having to pick up your dogs **** isn't it" Now when me & Paul are standing chatting if she is about she makes a big thing of looking for it but of course Never finds it.
Every Single person bar None over the years who leaves there dog **** is from the Posh houses.

To be honest that is an odd and very expensive way to scoop up cat poo! :p

Your better bet would be to buy a cheap plastic litter scoop from your local pet store. They probably cost < £3.

Seems like a no brainer considering a decent air rifle will cost several hundred pounds! :)

Unless you mean you intend to start shooting cats with an air rifle, in which case I would lawyer up first if I were you ;)
 
i can understand the hate from someone who had a cat crap on his lawn, however,
if it was my cat and you so much as looked at it the wrong way id be on your doorstep wiv me m8's bro...
 
Think i'd be annoyed too,

Different thing entirely, but I have 2 gates to my drive way, which a lot of the time, I leave open, especially I've I'm just off to the shops, I've noticed a few times that one gate is almost always closed when I return, to cut the story short, I found outs it's an old women who's doing it, just so she can walk on the flat part of the curb, I've been thinking of getting some anti theft paint to stop her, that or tar lol
