Is it fair to ask for a £30 refund on i7 8700k I purchased 12 days ago ?

I bought a Ryzen 1600 a few months ago. I notice you are practically giving them away now. Would it be possible out of good will to refund me for my cpu?

If you weren’t happy with the price you shouldn’t have paid it. I assume you were happy to pay £428.99.

I wanted an 8700k close to launch and the only retailer with stock at one point wanted close to £500. I wasn’t willing to pay that so waited.

It was obvious there were price fluctuations. The price you paid was higher than it had been previously.

Also the 8700k has been priced higher than RRP by some retailers to “abuse” the fact it’s a high demand low stock item.

Also where do you draw the line on price drops and your “right” to claim a refund on the difference back? 14 days, a few months, a year?

Consumers don’t have a “right” to refunds on price drops or price matches. It’s down to retailer discretion.

Lastly you’ve used the item and it’s not faulty. You’re not actually entitled to send it back within 14 days.

If the item was unused and in its original packaging you could, or if it developed a fault.

Yes some retailers have a loose returns policy but that’s their choice, it’s not a consumers right to use an item and return it.

Everyone can do what they like (I’ve certainly got no place telling them what to do) but I personally would just have contacted OCUK directly to ask if I was that way inclined. A thread like this on the forum hasn’t done you any favours.

I also wanted to add- if you BUY anything online from any Retailer they have to REFUND you no questions asked under EU consumer laws so in future I'll just get a refund :)

When you buy goods online you have additional rights to return them.

This is because your decision may be based on a brief description or a photograph – so what you receive isn't always quite what you’d expected.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you are allowed to return an item if you simply change your mind.

HaHa True - To be honest I don't feel so robbed because my MSI 1080ti Gained £250 Price increase so in fact I never got ripped off lol

You bumped your four month old fail thread, just to add that? Do you have 'issues' OP? I'm sure Gibbo is awaiting his cheque from you, for the £250 you owe him after your product appreciated in value after he sold it to you. Right? After reading this thread I can't decide whether I want to bang my head on the desk or put my face into a blender. The only incorrect information others have provided in this thread was about a 20% restocking fee - that's not lawful. You were provided a link to the distance selling regulations months ago, and now you necro the thread to link them like it's a revelation? :D
