Is it normal for a brand new GPU to be open both box and card wrapper?

I just got mine today after 2 days of waiting which I should've had yesterday....long story I'll just say don't use DPD. Their awful!

funny thing is when I was at the door waiting for my delivery the driver got out (he was on the other side of the van) and he closed the door already I heard a big crash....??? when he got to the door I said was that my box you dropped, he said no....oh well...If it's broke I'll just send it back.

Anyways, Overclockers is great. Never had problems with ocuk and friends have said the same, but is it normal for the GPU to be open? The box and the wrapper the GPU were in was unsealed? Sorry, but my GPU I just bought should be brand new, not open both box and card wrapper?

I've never had a bad time of internet buying then this one.

Is it sapphire?
Been a few cases where some of the sapphire cards have been pre-opened and the contents altered for the EU market.

Pretty sure the latest thread was about a 7970.

5UB just said mine will be fine? I said ok...I have a warranty. If it doesn't work I'll just return. I might have to wait a week or so though to see, as I have no idea how to install a PSU. My friend is doing it for me. I guess I'll have to wait.

Why not do the psu yourself, familerising with your products is thebest way to learn and solve problems.
24 pin goes in erm 24 pin
Pci-e cables go to gfx
Cable marked cpu goes to cpu slot and so on, read your mobo manual. You cannot go wrong even without manual, comon sense all the way.

MSI do not have any wrapper on their products.

Your product will be fine.

Yes they do, The plastic wrapper that the gpu is in.

I might give it a try if he doesn't do it this coming week.

If you wait and it's faulty...

... you'll only be waiting longer.

You must have a moby that can take pics?

Take a pic of each cable plugged in before you unplug it and then hold it next to where it goes and take another pic, remove the 4 screws holding the psu, reverse process using your phone if you get stuck-not that you should as you can't plug anything into the wrong power point.

You won't learn if you don't try.

:)

Wow tommy...that's a great idea. I never thought of that. Thanks you very much mate:D

Sorry I should have been more clear. :)

I mean plastic wrapper on the product box itself. The products in the box should be in anti static bags. :)

Ok while we are moaning about packaging, im not too chuffed! My mate purchased all my bits for my new build and OCUK sent my £500 GPU, 16gb memory and HDD in a damn plastic bag. My GPU box had crumpled corners. Not very impressed when I found out I can tell you. Everything seemed to be working but you dont expect to have around £700's worth of stuff sent in a plastic bag. I work sat in front of a big window and I see how the couriers treat out goods... scary!!!

I bought hundreds of pounds of tech porn from OcUK and it has always been inside a cardboard box with the empty spaces filled with those green air filled bags. Excellent packaging for me.

yeah must admit sometimes the package is OTT. It comes in a massive box my wife thinks I've spent a fortune then when I show here its a small box about 5" square containing a £5.99 CPU cooler.

Not always like that but sometimes.
