I would not have thought so :(

Seems a daft ? but is this with only the one game?

Is it quiet at idle - is it a problem that occurs as you ramp it up?

Sources on the internet pin point that yours is the only one!

Beast it in Heaven for a couple of hours and see if that stops it.

Its only done it on Alien Isolation on Ultra settings , it doesn't do it on the Witcher 3 Ultra or GTA Ultra ! very odd.

It's silent on idle , and the above games on ultra but not Alien Isolation. I'll play around with the settings and see if I can stop the whine noise , its bloody loud thou , sounds like the cards going to blow up.

What sort of frame rates were you hitting in aliens? Some cards will whine when hitting very high rates.

145 FPS on ultra settings

PROBLEM SORTED !

I've forced it to play at 60 FPS and the crazy whine is gone whooooooop ...... Didn't know high FPS makes your graphics card trip out ! lol

I have no idea but it only does it when a game is running at over 120 FPS & only Alien Isolation ..... I have put V-Sync to stop the issue.

Someone having a decent card doesn't negate the fact that it's a common issue for many owners, A 980ti that you have to sync to run slower is as good as broken. What if you own a 144hz panel? I'd try pounding it for a few hours like Gregster said and if that does not remove the noise send it back.

I would RMA - no card should do that at 140 plus fps. The whole point in buying a good gpu is so that you can play it on high fps settings. I have no sound at all form my 980ti, in fact from any of the gpu's I have ever owned. It must be broken.

"In Space, No-one Can Here You Coil Whine"

I would get it RMA'd as it sounds like you have a bad card. :(

Sometimes it is a lottery, unfortunately.
