Is it politically correct to go as an orthodox Jew to a halloween party?

No, it almost certainly wouldn't, and that isn't just about political correctness, it's about not being an offensive ass.

Kinda offensive but just plain weird. Why would you go to a Halloween party as an Orthodox Jew? It makes no sense.

How on Earth is it offensive?
What the hell is wrong with people.

Halloween, a pagan festival. Dressing up, harping back to when we were kids.
It might not be remotely relevant, but its not remotely offensive.

How do you think a Jewish man would feel if he saw my friend dressed up PRETENDING to be like him. He is dressed the way he is because of his religion. My friend is just screwing with him

I wouldnt, not because it is 'offensive' i mean..really?..but because it isnt that scary?

i really do worry about people who take offense to things like this, just worry about yourselves!

Why is it offensive? You're not one of those people who thinks a white kid dressing up as a Samuel L Jackson character is racist, are you?

Unless you find Orthodox Jews particularly scary it's not really a halloween costume is it?

It depends, in some places Halloween costumes have nothing to do with scary subjects, people just dress in various random costumes.

So he might get offended. What happens next? Nothing really.

The only problem that I foresee with it is that slightly awkward moment when you make inadvertent eye-contact with the guy whose gone as dressed as Hitler.

Let's return to the OP.
What is the point you think you are going to prove to your friend by posting this thread?

That it isn't politically correct to mess with your neighbour by dressing as an orthodox Jew on Halloween?
Is that the basis of your OP and your argument?

If so, I don't think politics have anything to do with dressing as someone religion.
