I think it would be more politically correct to say you are going as specific famous jew rather than just a general jew. Just like if you want to go as a black guy you don't dress up as slave with shackles and paint your face. You paint your face and say you are oj simpson or some other famous black guy otherwise you can't get away with painting your face.

I think most costumes are fair game. Dont see anything wrong with dressing as an orthodox jew. Nothing wrong with going as a nun, priest, the pope so *shrug*

Otherwise we might as well ban all costumes because somebody somewhere in the world just could maybe get offended...
