No why? Anyone want equality?

But you're creating a false dichotomy, it's not either winner-takes-all deregulated capitalism or rigorously enforced communism.

We have a minimum wage, why not a maximum one? We should either have both or neither really shouldn't we?

I used to be against the idea but recently I have been swayed by the arguement. I think something along the lines of 50 times the lowest paid worker would be realistic.

I dont want equality? Who even though of such stupid thing as equality among men or women? Isn't that a bit sexist (or whats that word that used when someone is discriminating towards another because they have something the other dont?)

Sorry, some how I mis-read your post thinking you were agreeing with him.

I think this may be relevant here.

Why should it matter?

Quote by an american guy called Benjamin Franklin.

All Property indeed, except the Savage’s temporary Cabin, his Bow, his Matchcoat, and other little Acquisitions absolutely necessary for his Subsistence, seems to me to be the Creature of publick Convention. Hence the Public has the Right of Regulating Descents & all other Conveyances of Property, and even of limiting the Quantity & the Uses of it. All the Property that is necessary to a Man for the Conservation of the Individual & the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right which none can justly deprive him of: But all Property of the Publick, who by their Laws have created it, and who may therefore by other Laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition. He that does not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire & live among Savages.—He can have no right to the Benefits of Society who will not pay his Club towards the Support of it.

32 trillion dollars?

Seems like some people are trying to cheat out of their responsibility to uphold capitalism, the funny thing is if holding out on so much currency, it could all be invalidated the next day if the economy were to crash or of course the main reason they are hoarding so much money is that if such a crash were to occur, they wouldn't be hit whatsoever.

A way to stop this is of course to permanently invalidate all currency held if a crash of the economy does happen, then move on to credit instead.

Credit cannot exist beside Currency, you are asking for tonnes of trouble.

What would a maximum one achieve?

A minimum wage is designed to stop exploitation a maximum wage would seem to be rather pointless - the vast majority of the self made super rich didn't get wealthy through having high salaries rather they got wealthy by things they own (businesses, investments) increasing in value.

Just imagine the horror, they've squirreled away billions for years and then they find out they have nothing.

The smart people though are busy spending it on assets, like gold and land and things. So even if the currency collapses, they'll still own everything.

Technically it's probably possible to be too rich in that you own so much the value of money is deflated so much that it's worthless, practically it's probably not. Even someone like Bill Gates has value for money still and finds something to do with it that makes him happier.

But if money has no value anymore will people recognise your ownership of these things?

As long as a legal system exists, yes. And I imagine even if a currency collapses that as a billionaire you will have investments in all other currencies. You will never be poor.
