Hello

My renewal is due in two weeks, so I've started receiving phone calls from people who give me a quote last year

So far my current insurers are the cheapest but have only dropped the price 3 quid a month

Is it possible to haggle with them to get it a little lower

I've got two years no claims no points, 30 years old and I'm paying £127 a month. Seems a bit high to me?

Any advice appreciated

yes. tell them you like their company and really want to stay with them. ask them about further discounts. most insurers will be able to knock you some money off.

Jeez, what car is that on? It seems fairly high to me.

Theres no harm in trying, have you tried the various comparison sites to get a rough estimate?

Are you going off the renewal quote they sent you, or have you phoned up and received this £3 a month cheaper deal?

A good start would be to go onto the companies website and do a online quote.

Generally it will be lower then the renewal price and you can get them to first match the online quote, then lower that.

ay go to their website and do a quote and then go on places like compare the market and see how cheap you can get it there. managed to haggle £45 off my insurance (Admiral) by quoting the cheapest price on the site which was swift cover :p

Most people can't afford to pay a lump sum. Neither are they bothered about getting a credit card.

So you can't be bothered to save (possibly) a few hundred quid a year? This attitude baffles me.

I'm 21 and have £2k interest free for 12 months... I'm certainly using it for insurance.

And understand when a morgage etc... surely having real responsibilities like that means making savings all the more important?!

It's a vauxhal movano. So it business use

I phoned them and that's the price they gave me, I've got a few companies ringing me at the moment but there coming back at £2000

Also my quote it for 3rd party. It goes up another £800 for fully comprehensive.

My area must be bad, or at least that's what they all tell me. It's ol post code
