Is it possible to impregnate the universe with life?

'Warm' being a relative term lol, warmer than absolute zero? for sure, way warmer. :D

we can tap into the heat if we had too
kola super deep borehole
The hole reached 12,262 m (40,230 ft) in 1989. In that year, the hole depth was expected to reach 13,500 m (44,300 ft) by the end of 1990 and 15,000 m (49,000 ft) by 1993.[5][6] However, because of higher-than-expected temperatures at this depth and location, 180 °C (356 °F) instead of expected 100 °C (212 °F), drilling deeper was deemed unfeasible and the drilling was stopped in 1992.[4] With the projected further increase in temperature with increasing depth, drilling to 15,000 m (49,000 ft) would have meant working at a temperature of 300 °C (570 °F), where the drill bit would no longer work.

What will they eat on their triumphant arrival on their new home planet?

They will eat half of all their offspring. The offspring will then eat half of their offspring and maybe their parents and some of their old uncles and aunts too.

Imagine we sent up a load of cryopreserved cockroaches, spiders, bacteria and stuff into space and shot it into all directions in hope of it landing somewhere and thriving?

Imagine in 42 billion years time. Star-Trek could actually be real with the amount of life we will have spewed out to distant planets and even other galaxies.

Morning Asim!

God you were high last night!

Bacteria are potentially in space already there is a slim chance they could survive asteroid impact and rock fragments containing them could be blasted into space.

They took samples of surveyor spacecraft from the moon back to earth and bacterial spores managed to survive in deep space for many years... and successfully be reanimated on return to Earth.

They're not capable of reproduction without the presence of water though, and some kind of energy source i.e. food.

Cockroaches can't survive without oxygen or water nor can any kind of multicellular life. Can some be frozen and revived.. possibly. The chances of landing in suitable conditions never mind surviving the journey have to be unbelievably small though. And what are they going to eat once they get there?

The other problem is the time it takes. By the time/if we develop Warp Drive we'll have overtaken all over craft sent out at sub light speed almost immediately.

It wouldn't work. All the higher life would just plain die off - no oxygen and no suitable food you see. Bacteria, in general, would also die off for the same reason. The seed of the new world with organic material might, I suppose, hasten the evolution of the first life on them but I doubt it.

However, it's possible that some microbes might be able to survive long enough to spread and seed life on new planets. What you need are anaerobic photosynthetic organisms, and specifically ones that are able to synthesize everything they need from the rawest of ingredients. Whether there's anything out there that is sufficiently independent to survive I'm not sure but I suspect that some cyanobacteria or purple Haloarchaea might fit the bill.

look up the anime/manga terra formars, might change your mind about sending cockroaches :)

Could we 'seed' the universe with life, theoretically yes although they'd likely need to be genetically altered first or be specifically aimed at 'Earth like' planets

It's possible life could move from planet to planet and even to different star systems, galaxies even given the right conditions.

But the uniserse as a whole? Nope.

i impregnated my next door neighbour and we produced life, but she hated me because of it so im not interested in impregnating the whole universe :o
