is it the wrong time to upgrade!!!

Well I was going to wait till the next gen cards where out but ive now bought a 780 Ti Kingpin that will do me for a while.

That's not strictly true.

AMD don't do jack for 3D at all (I use AMD for 3D gaming).

It's Tridef you use (Which costs) or AMD slap their name on a very limited amount of games which have generic frame sequential in.

EDIT : Just saw your post about it in CCC  never see it in my life of using AMD for 3D gaming, we (Tommy) etc use Tridef.

Perhaps it's different with a 3D HDTV (Which uses HDMI on I believe 24 FPS?) Whereas Me/Tommy use 120HZ so HDMI is a no go, we use Dual-Link DVI.

Im not sure if I want to upgrade for 4k with current lineup of cards theres no way one card will run games at 60fps+. Im not sure 2 cards would either, I maybe wrong. I cant fit anymore than 2 cards so that kinda rules out for me, until I upgrade for x99 boards.

A single high end card with lowered game settings, such as AA or from Ultra to high will get that 60fps figure at 4K :)

How about 290 CF?
I know in your review you say its about grunt power of the cards rather than high VRAM. Do you think 290 has the grunt power to run games at max setting with 60fps if you had 2-4 of these cards?

I don't like to spam threads with the same images but to show you how a single Titan (+/- a 290) gets on at stock clocks and with various settings, A pair of 290's will be able to hammer most games at full settings and maybe just need the AA dropped slightly to keep that magic 60fps.

Remember that was my single card testing and at stock speeds.

This, the only way to achieve 60+60fps via HDMI on 3D HDTV is 720p, 1080p is 24+24fps.

wasn't sure where to ask this....so ill ask here... what happens with all the returned gpu's that people change there mind with(14 day return) full refund....

are they packed up again and sold onto the next buyer? or sent back to the makers?

lol Nobody knows the true answer to that question :)

i would hate to think that someone else already had the pleasure of a quick play before me...when purchasing a new item....

but surely that doesn't happen....

If it's a perfectly working card, with no signs of damage, and all the gubbins in the box as normal... I doubt it would bother me. There must be a lot of customer returns which are in *perfect* condition.

In fact the DSR law is a pretty bad law in my book. "Buyers remorse" should never have been codified into law.

But as it stands, stores have to sell returns as B-grade and not new, so you don't have to worry about it.
