Personally I’d go with a 1/2 not a no1.

Also embrace the facial hair to balance things.

Take it down to a No2 or No3 all over rather as that still leaves you a bit of hair and won't be as shocking to look at compared to a "proper" skin head..

#1 or #2, you'll look and feel better for it.

Advice based on observation, not experience (I've just turned 46, and still have a full head of hair).

Here's me.. April 2016 the photo on the right was taken and a week later I shaved it off. The thinning at the front was pretty obvious. I was only 31.

Doesn't look so bad from front on. Getting really whispy at the fringe. Might take it down to 3 and take it from there.

Need to hit the gym. Can't be out of shape AND bald.
