Is it worth going over 144Hz?

Up until recently, I have been gaming on 60hz and it was because it was smooth enough for me to enjoy my games. However, I recently upgraded to a freesync premium 144hz monitor and I don't regret it one bit.

I set my refresh rate to 144hz during normal desktop usage and then cap the framerate to 60hz when gaming because although 144hz feels noticably smoother, 60hz to me is still smooth enough for me to enjoy games as I don't play FPS or competitive multiplayer games.

Same, went from a 75Hz screen to a 165Hz screen and yeah.... its smoother.

Not sure you would see any difference between 144Hz and 165Hz, they are basically the same so if you see something you like at 144Hz go for it, don't buy something just because its 165Hz vs 144Hz.

Yeah, anyone is going to notice going from 60hz to 144hz easily as that is over twice the hz but would anyone actually upgrade from 144hz to 165hz?

I finally upgraded my BenQ 1080p 24" VA panel (60Hz) to a curved Iiyama 34" VA panel 3440x1440(165Hz) and it's much better on my eyes in everyway, less fatigue / eye strain etc... My first curved monitor and it feels so natural now and easier to see the edges, great for gaming if you want a more natural in depth of field while gaming.

Glad I made the upgrade for £325.

I have a 360hz laptop for work, and I find it extremely difficult to notice any difference over 144hz even though the difference is pretty significant. The jump from 60->144 is way more impactful imo
