Is it worth it?

Wut! Yours have developed a rattle? Had the pair of mine for months and they we're both just as quiet when I sold them from the day I bought them.

Mine have done some serious benching in their time (I have had them since launch day), they only rattle with the fans on 95% but for gaming they are fine.

What is impressive about them when benching is they perform exactly the same as they did when brand new. Maybe I should give the coolers a clean out, 14 months of dust probably does not help and the cards have been running on average 110 hours a week.:D

Tbh my whole budget is around £1300 for my rig, I'm new so a lil stuck as to what sort of spec I need. like i said i play a lot of different game types fps, RPGs, car racing and even sim city so a card that can handle them even when I upgrade my monitor next year.

I look at a lot of shop builds an a lot have water cooling do I need that? I5 or I7? Power supply? Lol there is a lot to choose from ESP at the money I have to play with please help if you guys can spec a whole rig that would be great!

Sorry for the long winded reply but I want the best bang for my buck so to speak

@ 1080 and everything max you need atleast a 800 pound single gpu for 60 fps constant in every game available !

crossfire maybe a option but id get a 770gtx or crossfire 7950s

I want to try an keep it simple with a single gpu that's why I suggested a second hand one anybody sell stuff like that I have seen on a popular auction site them going for 400-500 only problem is are they trustworthy

What is the actual launch date ?

Well the rumor mill is suggesting the same time AMD release theirs but others are saying Nvidia's manufacturer (TSMC) is starting production in Q4 this year, And Maxwell will only be released some time or close to the end of Q2/Q3 next year.
So it's a bit up in the air at the moment.

My guess (as good as anyone else's) is we will see nothing from NVidia for the next six months. They have only just launched the GTX 780, 770 and 760 so will be looking for a decent gap before the next round of cards.

Im confused lol i have spent a few days planning stuff but im not sure what direction to go in.

I can afford a 780 at a push or a secondhand 690, or say a new 770/7970 and buy a second card next year i know i said keep it simple but i do tend to jump in and learn as i go. The system would be air cooled with summit beefy like a k2 and extra case fans till i gain experiance with a water loop next year with the new monitor.

With the fore mentioned cards in mind whats a decent case for 150 pounds with watercooling potential later? Im thinking an nzxt switch or the new corsair 540? cube thingy lol. Im not time wasting just taking my time and making sure i get it right because i have saved up for ages : )
