apparently the clutch plate had disintegrated.
BMW paid for under warranty:
tow car back from germany
replace clutch and flywheel
taxi and flights for me and dave back to UK
hire car for 2 1/2 weeks.
M5 does get used as well as the noble because its a bit more practical.
i.e. if it involves raining, multi story car parks, luggage or passengers then i take the M5.
went up to norfolk over the weekend and gave the M5 a nice exercise on the A-roads up there.
