Is my 1080 running too hot ??

The 2 fans for the radiator I'm guessing they should be plugged into cpu fan and the cpu_opt on the mobo ? Is that right ? Need to have a play tonight when I get home see if it's the airflow or gpu , thanks for all the replies by the way it's much appreciated :) ... just want to get it up and running now so I can just relax and crack on with the games :D

If you can i would plug both radiator fans into the CPU fan one.
You can control the fan curves through software. Either use the ASUS AI Suite (which is what I use) or a utility like speedfan (which is more lightweight and customisable).

I'm guessing they are 4 pin as they came with the case and i can hear the speed of the fans changing ?

There's only 1 cpu fan plug on the mobo ?

ah ok. wasn't sure if you had a fan splitter or if the AIO had some way to connect both fans to 1 header.

You can connect it to the CPU and CPU_Opt, but you may need to set it separately in your software (i don't use the CPU Opt on my motherboard so not sure).

out of curiosity... your current setup. How are things connected?

You have 2 fans from AIO into case, x other fans also into case? and then case into CPU?

Not normal, return the card. A hot case wouldn't result in those temperatures at those fan speeds unless there was virtually no space for airflow around the card. At 100% fan speed the card should be under 65c and certainly 70c. Bad application of tim or fitment of the heatsink would be my guess. Even without case fans, I think you'd need a small case with virtually no vents for airflow to reach those temperatures. If you remove the side panel and retest, you should see below 65c.

All current fans are connected through to a phanteks pwm hub in the back of the case , then one 4 pin connection from the hub out to the cpu fan on the mobo , then there's a 12v Sata plug to the fan hub from the psu ? There's a big fan on the front of the case blowing air in then a fan on the back exhausting air out

82c is a little high in my opinion/my liking. But nothing to worry about longevity wise.

I would have others have stated and optimise your case flow. It can make a huge difference especially if the air flow is highly restricted.

As many good quality fans. Plenty of intake, rear and top exhaust fans as you can fit.

Really appreciate the replies chaps, just got home and taken the side panel off , still hitting 82 degrees at 100% fan speed , it's knocking the clocks down I think as I have the temp limit at 83 ... is this a definite rma ? :(

yeah, that's not right, I have a 1080 amp extreme and under load with fans at 100% my temperatures are around 30 degrees.

For day to day use I left the fans on the default profile ( virtually silent unlike the Boeing 747 noise at 100% speed! ) and I am seeing up to about 74 degrees under load.

Can I just ask the obvious. If you are using a custom fan curve when does it hit 100%? If its set to hit 100% at 80c then what you are seeing is normal. Sounds like your custom fan curve is wrong ?

Turn off the custom fan curve, set it to 100% all the time then play Battlefield 1 for 20 mins and tell us what temps you are getting. Then leave it on the default profile and tell us what the highest temp it gets to. If its still going as high as 82c then is the cooler placed on okay. What size is the heatsink on the Amp Edition ? Only then I would say its not right.

It is 40/40 then set it up to 100% at 70 degrees ? I've left it normal and it still goes up to the same temp ? That can't be right with the case off ? Also it's being limited at 83 degrees so it will not go above that, god knows what it would get to if I put that higher :(

Technically it gets up to 82/83 :(

Also at stock the clocks are set to 1936 on the core , once the card gets up to 82 degrees they drop to like 1868 presuming that's to keep the temp down

That's not correct or normal in the slightest. If it is set to reach 100% at 80c it should never reach 80c in the first place. If the card is set to 100% fan at 75c, it should never reach 75c and so on. I'd expect this to be the case right down to around 55-60c dependent on case temperature/airflow.

Not to sound stupid but is it actually hitting 100%, you can confirm this with rpm? All fans spinning?

Do any of the screws have warranty stickers on? If not I'd be tempted to take the cooler off and check TIM, cooler mounting etc.

If they do then pretty much time to RMA.
