Is my 2080ti going wrong?

It just works ! I love that saying now lol.:D:eek::eek:

Sadly Nvidia aren’t Apple . Nvidia have 0 competition. If AMD had any sort of competitor product, the 2080ti would be 200 - 400 cheaper and would probably have been better made.

If only Apple offered a reasonably priced and easily upgradable gaming computer is buy that. MacOS is vastly superior to Windows 10 (IMO)

Its just for the Ti

There is a record being maintained on the nvidia forums

Most people with a healthy card would not even bother to post.

It is a bit like looking for healthy people in the doctors waiting room.

Having said that if the problem effects a sizable chunk of the cards sold, possibly greater than 15% for example NVidia would do well to recall all the cards now and save themselves a lot of pain in the coming months.

If NVidia do have a big problem with the cards and fail to handle it correctly I suspect they will leave themselves open to legal action especially in the USA.

I hope OP gets sorted, it does sound like a less than 100% healthy gpu.

I hate those sorts of faults. give me a catastrophic failure every day. (obviously i would take a working product 1st).

my fear with faults like the op is that it gets to an engineers test bed, gets plugged in for 5 mins and "passes" generic tests, then you potentially end up with having to pay postage to get your (potentially still faulty) product back.

this is the kind of example of where a retailers customer service is put to the test.
Argos for instance in my experience just dont care and will take anything back without even testing it. Argos dont sell gpus however ;)

overclockers have done well by both my mates who had to return gpus, however they were very obviously duds.

IF it were me, i think i would report the potential fault to overclockers however ask if i can carry on testing a little longer before returning.
if there is a fault, hopefully it will get worse, but, more importantly the current batch of 2080tis seem so failure prone i think i would be tempted to hold off as long as i could to try to make sure the card i got back was from a different run with any fixes made.

I bought RAM from Amazon 3 years ago. I just sold it last month on MM and the buyer came back saying it wasn't working properly (it had worked fine for the 3 years I had it). I no longer require the RAM and the box says lifetime warranty. Hmm... I phoned Amazon CS and asked how the lifetime warranty worked, should I send to them or Corsair. Amazon issued a full refund before I had posted the RAM back to them.

RAM for 3 years and then money back. Unreal.

It’s getting very boring to read, perhaps come up with something new?

Where is the source for that figure?

Was posted in the failure thread (i think), was taken from the official Nvidia forums.

The same one excel file with a small amount of self reported faults on the forum, well worth taking as fact and ‘official’ over the small percentage real life figure quoted by multiple partners selling the cards.

60%!? Seriously?

No not seriously. If you have an issue sorry to hear that but don’t worry about the crazy train thinking half the cards are faulty. Also don’t forget to update all your windows components especially if ticking DX12 in BFV, the blue screen could be issues with that.

cant grumble about that.... I have had good experiences with them as well, however as they are a competing company i was not sure if i should mention them in my post.

You have got to love lifetime warranties!..... my mum had a launch dyson vacuum cleaner with lifetime warranty as well. Its a bit like Triggers Brush (there is not much original left in it) but it still kept going after lots of free repairs. Dyson kept offering her brand new top of the range units to replace it, but because they no longer come with life time warranties she always turned them down - until a few months ago, because the old unit is so heavy now she needs something lighter!.

so she now has an all singing all dancing battery powered unit for free.

back on topic tho, as said already, whilst the 2080tis may not have a life time warranty, they will still be covered for now. OP really needs to make 100% sure it is not a driver / software issue causing problems before starting an RMA imo.

Hi

I purchased a Palit 2080ti, its been fine for a week or two, but suddenly its started booting me out of BFV. Originally I was getting artefacts then a system hang No error message or blue screen., I updated Nvidia drivers and it worked fine again (5 hour BF session). Today I jumped on and after 40 mins BFV started stuttering then simply hung and it booted me to windows. Windows was operating but very slowly, mouse hanging etc.

Oddly enough, its fine on Kingdom Come deliverance, no issues at all.

Ive got an RMA agreed from Overclockers, but does this sound like a hardware issue??

Did it get the space invaders artifacts? If it got those then the card is definitely on the way out. If not then, the card might be ok. You got an RMA with OCUK, so lets see what they say. Any word on when the replacement is coming?

You know you are talking to a guy whose 2080TI failed on him and had to return it? At least @scubes still has his sense of humour about the whole thing.
No use being negative guys I appreciate OCUK time for at least checking my card al l o have to do now is wait on my new psu to rule that out . Well at least my card is coming back and I can’t wait .

Yes Ive had space invaders twice. Once half way through BFV, then on restart on the Windows login screen. I took pictures but not sure how to upload onto forums. After that, I was just getting crashes, with a drilling sound through my head phones.

I’ve tried reinstalling drivers (clean), and swapping over cables on my PSU (i heard that running 2 8pins off a same cable can cause voltage issues). My PSU is fine, only a few years old and its a decent Corsair 850W.

is that one of those that allow you to choose single rail or multi rail? i am almost certain i raid that the 2080ti is more stable if you run the psu in single rail mode.

That my friend is a good question, its a Corsair TX850 which is single rail i believe.

To be honest, I’m looking to upgrade by PC in the new year when the sales are on, new PSU, i5 > i7, 16GB Ram - 32GB ram, and depending on how well overclockers handle my return, will be the deciding factor on if they get my business or not.
