Is my 2080ti going wrong?

It’s getting very boring to read, perhaps come up with something new?

The same one excel file with a small amount of self reported faults on the forum, well worth taking as fact and ‘official’ over the small percentage real life figure quoted by multiple partners selling the cards.

No not seriously. If you have an issue sorry to hear that but don’t worry about the crazy train thinking half the cards are faulty. Also don’t forget to update all your windows components especially if ticking DX12 in BFV, the blue screen could be issues with that.

I take that as better evidence than hearsay of retailers to be fair, remember the xbox360 they tried to claim it was within normal fault levels.

I had to return an MSI 980ti to Overclockers after it failed within a week. They had a replacement in my hands two days after I sent it.
GPUs can fail. I think people just are more ready nowadays to jump on the net and talk about it, especially when they sniff the blood.
Just RMA it.

Nah, RMA's numbers are much higher with this release. We have examples of multiple forum members having issues... the last time I saw this was the 970 thing.

At £1k+ this level of quality control is unacceptable. Nvidia wanted the brand recognition and the resultant price tag; they can't have it both ways.

All I can tell you is I didn't post anywhere on the net about my 980ti failing. I did post about my 2080ti.
You cannot judge the overall failure rate by the posts on this forum, unless that post is by an OC staff member who gives a figure. New GPUs can fail.
The only issue is if the replacement continues to work. If it does no problem.

No use being negative guys I appreciate OCUK time for at least checking my card al l o have to do now is wait on my new psu to rule that out . Well at least my card is coming back and I can’t wait .

Hey, good to hear your card is coming back so quickly. Quick Turnaround is nice!! BFV is supposed to have got a big boost in performance in Ray Tracing with latest drivers, so you might be getting your card back just at the right time :)

Yes Ive had space invaders twice. Once half way through BFV, then on restart on the Windows login screen. I took pictures but not sure how to upload onto forums. After that, I was just getting crashes, with a drilling sound through my head phones.

I’ve tried reinstalling drivers (clean), and swapping over cables on my PSU (i heard that running 2 8pins off a same cable can cause voltage issues). My PSU is fine, only a few years old and its a decent Corsair 850W.

Sorry man, your card is on the way out. If I was you I wouldn't take a chance, get an RMA in now and get a working card back before Christmas.

I really want to buy a 2080 ti from OC to complete my setup, but I simply cant pay while all of this is still going on. Does anyone know when this bad batch of initial cards will clear out and we get a second wave of deliveries without these 'limited test escapes'?

1k for a GPU should never carry this risk. So frustrating.

It's hard to say. This seems like it could be a silicon problem and Nvidia might need to respin Turing.

Even if there are issues, chances are on your side that you will get a good card. Especially if you are buying an AIB card and not one of the FE models. If you are buying from OC, then you know they have great customer service, so even if your card is faulty your RMA will be dealt with swiftly.

It's just the hassle of having to go through the RMA process. Especially if you have no spare card lying around.

Hey guys just an update.

OCuk recieved my faulty card back today at 11am. By 11:35am they had accepted the return, and by 13:20pm they have shipped me a brand new one next day delivery.

This is brilliant service by OCuk, particularly to send back next day delivery.

I can’t help but wonder if they didn’t even need to test to card as maybe the SN relates to a batch they know are dodgy?

Well, to be fair, Space Invaders doesn't take up many resources and only takes a few seconds to load.

It's could be the SN number, that's an interesting thought. But it might just be that Nvidia/AIB partners have given the retailers the green light to accept any 2080Ti RMA's without question because of the issues they are having.

Its certianly making me happy about buying one of these from OCUK in the near future. The only good news about all of this is the cards seem to fail within a week or two, so its not fuss to send back to the retailer and not wait two years for it to happen and have to go direct.

How could you possibly know that?
