Why don't you hold Crucial up to they gaurantee. it is for a life time ad if they cant deliver you the same product demand you get money back.

Heres what i got from them when i asked for a refund as opposed to 4 x 512mb sticks, But i didnt buy from them directly.

Hello Brendan,

Thanks for your e-mail.

As far as we are aware, our PC4000 1GB Ballistix modules are not
faulty. We stand behind each of our products with a limited lifetime warranty
and 30-day compatibility guarantee. The decision to stop production on
the 1GB PC4000 Ballistix parts was made in order to come in line with
the rest of the market. At the moment, the memory industry is adopting
DDR2 as the new standard, which offers higher speed grades and lower
power consumption than DDR.
As you have purchased your modules from a 3rd party then we cannot
refund any money and you must contact Overclockers regarding any refunds as we are only in the position to exchange these modules on a like for like
basis.

We do still have PC4000 kits in 512MB densities however, and so please
call or e-mail in to place your order.

If you've had them less than a year then ask OCUK for a refund as it is the retailers responsibility for returns not the manufacturers. OCUK have simply provided a direct service for replacements through Crucial as it is quicker (and easier) for them. If it's over a year then you are at the mercy of Crucial!!

I got home from uni today to a crashed PC, wouldn't reboot until I reset CMOS and put FSB down from 250 to 200 :( Works ok now but it is rated at PC4000! Are mine failing also? 2x1gb :(
