Thankfully his old corsa is standard so I can't see him sticking irmscher stuff all over this one. I guess I'm not gunna be able to persuade him out of this one.

Tell him to get the best Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo he can find, and have 1500 in change, maybe spend a little for a chavvy exhaust as most won't have anything too loud on.
It will look different enough to at least be of interest to his boy racer mates and the performance will seal the deal.
Insurance could be interesting, but it's not known as a boy racers car so maybe he'll get lucky.
