is my hdd dead

ive got a western digital passport 250gb
been fine until i tried yesterday and it wouldnt open in windows, so i tried on anotehr pc and still nothing, so i put my ear to the hdd and can hear it clicking well more like tiptiptiptiptip.
there is power going to it but nothing else but this clickin/tiptip noise.

is my hdd dead if so can i get warranty from it as its less than a year old

It doesn't sound good, I'd definitely get it replaced under warranty if I were you.

Apparently there's a 2-year warranty on Passport drives, so you should have no problems.
