Hi

Im looking into getting a NAS drive just want to make sure it will be suitable for the following task.

It will be attached directly to my Gigabit router. streaming to 2 pc's or ps3s depending on where it being watched and also a playon hd.
I want to store all my MKV tv series and movies on it and occasional iso files.
Will it be able to stream 1.5gb 720p files to 2 pcs on the network without an issue?
Can it stream 10GB 1080p over the network to 2 pcs?
Can you use it to download directly from newsnet instead of torrents *yuck*

Been looking at
Qnap TS-210 Turbo 2-Bay 800mhz with 128mb ram
Synology DiskStation DS111 1.6ghz with 256mb ram 1 bay
Synology Diskstation DS211J 2-Bay 1.2ghz 128mb ram but has 2 bays

So far im leaning towards the DS111 with the faster processor and would just use a 2tb drive. Can the DS111 do everything the DS211J 2 can?

Any advice appreciated. I also looked at the HP server but its too big for the shelf :p

I have the Synology DiskStation DS111 connected to a gigabit router and then a WDTV Live and PC connected via Homeplugs.

I haven't tried with 10gb+ 1080p videos (I don't have any), but it easily streams two 4gb 720p videos simultaneously.

For usenet access you can install a 3rd party package which includes SABnzbd+; I'm currently using this one.
