Is October the month of misery?

Is there a reason why around october people are more miserable? Perhaps it's just me noticing nothing, but during october time there seem to be more arguments amongst family/friends, I read more comments that are rude on here/myface+, and in general in shops etc.

Are people ruder and more depressed in the october month than other months?

Maybe it's due to the weather generally cooling off slightly ("when was it warm?" I'm sure some of you are asking) and we're heading towards winter and shorter days which for some reason makes people feel a bit miserable.

I'm quite happy with the cooler weather and the length of the days doesn't bother me much either but I recognise that I'm probably in the minority with this.

I'm pretty sure there was some research into this and it was found that people are generally more depressed when there are less hours of daylight. So expect it only to get worse as the days get shorter.

Can't remember where I saw it but I'll try and find a link.

Lack of vitamin d from lack of sun, everyone's finished their holidays. Now it's just dark, wet and miserable slog till Christmas. Holidays means most people are skint as well.

3 factors.

1. Less daylight hours
2. Less Vitamin D, important for Calcium absorption
3. Psychological stuff like women wear more clothes (not kidding) :D
