I like serviio as a dnla server, find it a bit easier overall than plex.

I really should start charging folk at my work who use it mind you. I could introduce a charge everytime I get whatsapp asking me to put some drivel reality tv show or god awful movie on it!

Use Ombi. Then you can just approve or deny requests depending on how you set up approvals, it can also auto approve.

Got it running on an old Dell optiplex running Ubuntu last night. Relatively painless setup; there's some good instructions out there.

The only problem I ran into was with directory permissions. But that's my lack of Linux knowledge rather than a Plex issue.

Mine is purely going to be used at home as an easy way to watch old DVDs and Blu-rays.

There's no need for mine to be on 24/7 as I'll only be watching on the odd occasion I have a free evening.

It's working exactly as I want it to. Just need to get a bigger drive and get some backups in order.
