As the title said, sum1 in my office who in fairness knows a lot about football thinks due to Man U’s financial problems Rooney will have to go.

I personally don’t think he is worth £70mil, 40 yes!

Just shows how stupid football has gone, once Ronaldo was sold for 80mil its set a bad precedence

No he's not worth 70 million, he's only worth what the market is willing to pay, and what financial troubles are Man Utd having?

Reportedly Man U are 700 million in debt. Which is going to up by around 50 mil a year in interest (again reportedly).

Is he worth 70 mil? Not in my eyes but it's other teams that may pay it.

I thought that we were indeed in a **** load of debt but that the 50 mill a year was the current interest and we are trying to chage that so that we are paying a much smaller amount each year.

I still cant believe that the glazers were able to buy a football club and then move all the debt to the club itself. Obscene.

No player is worth those kinds of figures.
The prices players are selling for plus the obscene wages they get is why so many clubs are having the financial problems they are.

No, only Messi is worth close to that, but football fans value players less than clubs do as we're not used to throwing £20m's around whenever we feel like it. Though even in today's market he's not worth £70m

I still cant believe that Hicks and Gillett were able to buy a football club and then move all the debt to the club itself. Obscene.

God I hate football right now.
