Just installed my msi gaming z 2070, whacked battlefield on all excited, whacked all graphics to ultra and in 1440p its dropping into the high 50fps range at times? this shouldn't be happening as my bro has a 980ti and at 1440p his never drops below 70fps

Oh and when I go to the graphics options there is no option for ray tracing that I can see?

Can anyone help? or is my card DOA?

turn off future frame rendering.

Is it in the computer that's in your sig? I could easily see 4C/4T and only 8gb of RAM causing frame rate drops especially in multiplayer. Does GPU usage drop when you go down to 50FPS? Run afterburner whilst gaming if you aren't already to help pinpoint the problem.

Also make experiment between dx11 and dx 12 and make sure screen scaling or resolution scaling it might be called is at 100.

Yep its the computer in sig, Im getting not much more frames than my 970 though which is bonkers lol also the ray tracing setting isn't even showing up which is weird

Ray tracing not showing up is odd. maybe try moving your settings file somewhere safe so when the game boots up it detects your hardware.

I really think you need to run afterburner though whilst gaming. I just jumped into a round of breakthrough and was seeing 50-70% usage on all 12 threads and 8.8Gb RAM usage.

gpu was between 40/60% and cpu didn't get maxed, didn't have the ram option on but have just done that and will try again, I don't think its the ram though as my highs are not high either, 99% of the time under 80fps

Just reinstalled the drivers and this time it told me to restart the pc to complete the install, it didn't say that the first time so im hoping it was the driver, will test now and report back.

Nope, even worse this time, frames dropped to 45fps when things were hectic and average was around 55/60fps, I don't know what the hell is going on :(

Ray tracing DXR still not showing even in dx12?

Did you reinstall using DDU? It's key to removing a lot of driver crap that can cause these sorts of issues.

You definitely have a problem though, I'm on an ancient 2600k and a 1070 and I average 90-110fps at 2560x1080.
