Is the 10700k actually good value now? VS Ryzen 5000

@jigger yea i updated my Bios and even increased Voltage to 1.4v but it still fails Memtest86 at 3200mhz im hoping i can use my ram at 3400mhz CL14 on a B550 with a 5800X as the IMC should be a lot better.

Maybe try 1.45v and the next strap up from 3200.

Exactly same boat.

I've bought upgrades for psu, SSD and a new case on prime day but still holding out for m/b and CPU purchase and will likely hold off post the amd release date.

5800 is the target and yeah, it may not be great value over the 10900 atm (especially with 5000 series not going mad on core count like they might have done) but that gen gap and pci4 is definitely worth the extra £100 or so over the life of the pc I reckon.

Good luck with the release. Fingers crossed it's well stocked everywhere as I'll also be grabbing cyberpunk soon and my CPU is a great but old 4970k which is starting to struggle with the 1440p gaming.

I have the itch as well. Hold on brother!

At least you've not bought the mobo so you're open on choice, whereas I'm sat with a B550 not feeling as clever as I did in September
