Is the LG C4 42” the best option for a 4K OLED monitor ?

Got my C4 42 inch and it's absolutely astonishing :D

Toyed with the idea of a 48 inch but so glad I didn't do that as would definitely have been too much. 42 inches feels like the perfect size.
Awesome to hear, and when I upgrade to OLED monitor I will definetly go 42 inch. 32 is waaay to small. Let em keep that 240 hz yada yada. 144 hz as it's on the C4 is plenty. Woulden mind higher tho - but What game can one drive in such high fps anyway!

I do all my gaming on the CX55 as I just cant stand, even look at LCD ever again, as it's total utter POS Garbage vs OLED :D
But kind a miss the nice desktop feeling. Until then my old PG279Q will do for work etc, and gaming on the telly!

I have had the C2 for a while now and really enjoy it for gaming. It is not great for productivity and Black Myth Wukong looks a bit strange on it, all other games are fine but BMU has so much density in detail the low PPI makes it look a bit blurry. I am tempted by the OLED LG 32" monitor but for some reason LG don't care about the UK and it is not in stock anywhere..

I thought about a 32" but can't justify the loss I would take selling the 42 then paying extra for a decent 32
If the 42 conks out I would definitely replace it with a 32

I also use the LG 42" C3 for PC gaming, browsing etc. They are brilliant and using a 4090 makes gaming on it so good!

I found Wukong has a high level of sharpening applied that doesn't look right and can't be turned off in the options. Baffles me why so high. There is a mod to disable the sharpening filter. I can also see the effect on my smaller 4k screen. Could it be the sharpening that you are noticing?

The 32" LG OLED was in stock today, pulled the trigger as I really found the 42" not great for productivity. I'll do a comparison between the C2 as it has MLA etc so should be brighter for gaming (Hopefully)

So the LG monitor arrived, the text is nice and crisp and better than the C2, however for gaming this is not a good replacement for the 42" - ofcourse it looks sharper, but I am missing the immersion of the C2 42" - not sure if I want to keep it :(

Will mess around with settings but games don't appear that much brighter than the C2 either.

Could have told ya so. Once 42 a 32 is tiny tiny nothing to have!

Checking rtings.com it says the LG C2 42" is replaced by the C4. Is the C2 still the best thing to try and get or is the C4 just as good? Can't see it sold anywhere.

Hope my mistake is someone's ability to save money :p
The C2 42 is such great value, its a shame LG aren't applying the same quality to their other panels
Yeah they are amazing. If I had cash I would buy one - Get back to some Desktop Love :D
As now I only game on my CX55 as I cant stand any LCD monitors since going OLED in 2021. My old PG279Q tho, still have it's place for writing etc. But would love to have a smaller as the 42, for that awesome destop Joy!

Yeah spent loads of time doing research on it the lg 32 oled Personally I'd probably go with another model that has burn in support and better warranty.

C4 is better and higher refresh rate. Crazy cheap price ATM as well. Wonder if black Friday will be even cheaper
Thanks, I've had my current LG 32" IPS monitor for 6 years now so thought of upgrading to something a little larger. I think going to 42" will be the last size upgrade I need :D

I had been looking at the ASUS ROG monitors as the alternative but they look a bit bulky and garish for me.
