Is the Q9450 really in stock on the 10th?

How to make lots of money on a product release:

1. See when your rival retailers "expect" stock - this works best if all of the rival retailers have the same date listed.
2. Advertise the new product and give a release date some time earlier than your rivals - 1 week is a safe figure to use.
3. Sit back and watch the pre-orders come in - some people want things so desperately they will believe what you tell them and pay a premium too.
4. Miss your initial release date - you weren't going to get the items in then anyway but you can firmly blame the company releasing the product, remember it was them who delayed the release, not you.
5. Accept that a percentage will now cancel their pre-order - this is to be expected.
6. Release product on the same day as all other retailers, enjoy your pre-ordering customers and also those that accepted a premium for an early release and then couldn't be bothered to change their pre-order when delivery failed.

I know this is how some retailers have worked, do work and will work.

Right, I'm cancelling the Q9450 tomorrow if they are not in stock by then. I will take delivery of the rest of my order and bung in the lowest 775 socket chip possible to last until wide availabillity of the 9450.

What is the lowest CPU I can use in an Abit IP35 Pro MB, and what should I expext to pay for it?

[snip] are getting these instock today but they say they won't get enough to even meet their pre-orders so hopefully OcUK will get some too and they will be all over soon enough :)

Surprise surprise the competitor's websites aren't right either. I would have thought that was obvious from the lack of ANY information on the Q9450s on the 'net - no reviews, no dates, nothing. Instead Intel have been talking about Larabee and Nehalem.

The only release date we've heard from Intel is Q2 2008, which most likely means they'll ship them on the 26-28th to show they've kept their promise.

Haha, praise OC or get banned!

Our OCs really such big babys?

If i feel i need to make a point about something, i make it, if i get banned, So what!

I probably wont need the forum again anyway:)
