Scores lovely goals, but was rarely prolific, only had a few seasons that would enable him to be classed a top striker, even then it was due to the quality of the goals, not quantity. 15goals was a great season for him, in all competitions really, his last 4 years are Arsenal, in terms of goals scored, weren't close to good.
Great vision but often played as a withdrawn striker/advanced midfielder for us, even played the wing a few times, he's really a midfielder with great vision to pick out a pass to get an assist.
Is there a better finisher than Bergkamp, many many many better finishers, he was all style, he missed a lot of chances in his time.
I would rate Pires and Wrighty as better finishers, Pires could shoot from anywhere in their half and score, scored two superb goals from 45yards or so, perfect control of the ball, more prolific than Bergkamp at his best.Wrighty was just Wrighty, a big mouth who scored, and scored and scored. Henry, missed a lot but he was so clever with his movement and had players like Bergkamp, Pires, Fabregas, Vieira(back when he was good) around him who linked up so well that they created more chances than almost any other team on the planet when Arsenal/Henry were at their peak.
Henry was more of a prolific chance creator, than a finisher, but was great at both anyway.
Back to Bergkamp, his goal against Newcastle was probably the best he scored in the prem, but a really simply finish, it was the passing in the team and the truly superb turn that made the goal great. Thats what Bergkamp was about, creating the goal in a ridiculously brilliant fashion, the finishing was ordinary.
