Is there a better finisher than Dennis Bergkamp?

From what ive saw in my life the best finishers are: romario, batistuta, ronaldo, shearer.

Is there no love for Filippo Inzaghi?

That guy had the worst first touch, was offside 80% of the time, i highly doubt he could even do 5 kickups, but he was a goal machine.

One of the most dangerous, and underrated strikers imo.

As for a quality finisher?

The Ronaldo and Robbie Fowler would be my picks.

Bias aside, Fowler's the most natural finisher I can remember seeing in my life-time. He could score from nearly anywhere on the pitch; left foot, right foot, header, 5 yard tap ins, 20 yard rockets or delicate chips/lops.

Hasselbaink and Ronaldo are probably the only other 2 but I can't recall Hasselbaink having the 'touch' Fowler had and I didn't see enough of Ronaldo.

Ronaldo for me, PSV/Barca/Inter/Real/Brazil - simply fantastic for all of them.
could have been so much better as well!

I don't know about everyone else but Bergkamp has got to be in a different league to the other players mentioned in this thread, in terms of my understanding of "finish". Those types of goals are "bang 'em in the net" type finishes - great goals, I'm not disputing that. But with Bergkamp it was just sublime technique and craftsmanship. I actually can't think of another player that controlled the ball so delicately as him.

Off the top of my head: Baggio, Zidane and Figo?

As has been mentioned.

There were better players then Bergkamp.

There were better goal scorers then Bergkamp.

There were better finishers then Bergkamp.

Nobody has said he wasn't a great player, he was in terms of Premierleague, on the World Stage? ...

I still remember the goal Bergkamp scored against Argentina in world cup 98. He did the same thing against Leicester but on the other side of the goal, proving it was no fluke.

That was his Hatrick as well.

Anybody else been watching the 'Football's Greatest' episodes on SS1? They're great

Yep watched the Ronaldo of Brazil one last night...was pretty good actually and made me think what a shame that hes no longer the player he was once was...although he back in the Brazilian league now playing for the Corinthians...scoring 12 from 20 games.

Scored a hattrick in one game as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVyLmas6tUw

Still has it even though hes been injured a fair few times now...shame Dunga didnt take him to the WC as a supersub...would have been nice to see him play on the world stage....perhaps add to his tally of WC goals.
