Is there a proper, side by side, pc versus console comparison.

Hello, as per title, is there a site that compares games games on the 360 and ps3 with the pc version at the same res, eg. 1920x1080 or 1280x720 ?

I've got this mate and no matter what game I show him ( even with 16x AA and 16X AF) on my 1280x1024, he claims his 360's games look better on his normal non hd tv...


Gears of war looks FAR nicer to him on the 360 :confused:. ( maxed on my pc 1280x1024)
Tdu looks a bit better on the console according to him. ( 1280x1024 maxed + 4x AA and HDR and 8x AF on my pc)
Grid doesn't look better on pc according to him.

Another mate claims Assasins creed on his hd ready (720p) tv looks better than on my pc @ 1280x1024, dx10, maxed, with 8x AA and 16X af :confused:.


So does any site have proper side by side ''fair'' ( same res) pictures that compare ( up to date g80/g92 or ati equiv gaming) pc's to the outdated consoles with their outdated 7900's and x1800xt's ?

just get your monitor next to his tv will be a myuch better comparison than pictures on the internets.

does it matter? they're obviously wrong. If they don't see it when looking at both games running they won't see it from comparison shots.

They're just saying stuff though because they are fanboi's and the placebo effect in their mind makes it look worse on the pc ( them being used to a gf 7300le and gf 6600 respectively).

I want to show them pics, instead of their imaginations of pc versus console, not some image they have in their mind to my pc...
 
meh mgs4 looks sexy as hell on my monitor.

haven't got any games on my ps3, that i have on pc too, as then i could just switch the inputs (button on monitor) and see the difference instantly.

But yeah most pc games with a good gfx card and higher resolutions better than consoles.
 
Well the only game I've played on both is Oblivion and it didn't look drastically different tbh (this was without any of the fancy graphics mods though) the performance was smoother on PC but overall graphical quality looked similar from an onlooker's perspective.

If a game uses the exact same assets on both (Oblivion) it's going to be hard to tell the difference. But AF, AA and higher resolutions will always make a PC game look sharper than a console game.
 
Instead of a direct comparison just show them Crysis.

To be honest most of what they're seeing will be the consoles being on larger screens.
 
Yeah Assassins Creed I have on 360 and have seen a fair amount of screenies on pc. Doesn't look very different. obviously haven't seen it in motion on PC though. TDU has always struck me as looking much nicer on PC from shots in the screenshots thread.
 
i tried the grid demo on my 360 and pc, switching between the two on my dell 24" and i have to say the pc version looked *fractionally* better, mainly because it seemed to have slightly better aa.

Can't see any jaggies using the ingame max AA, which prolly is 8x, if not then it's 4x but I doubt it's less.
AF is forced in NV panel.

He played Crysis with all on high in xp...
He said it was nice but thought other games on console looked better :confused:.

Haha, it sounds like he's just trying to wind you up. Or he's the biggest console fanboy ever.

I don't think so, maybe on this forum but the general public is far worse imo. I've had people telling me that the 360 isn't really a next gen console and that blu-ray is thousands of times better for gaming and stuff. From personal experience though I've found Ninty fanboys to be the worst.

Snowboy I'd just give it up, if they think another game looks better than crysis then no matter what evidence you show them they'll find some way to deny it. Just let it go and smile in the knowledge that you're right :)
 
weid on the internets all 360 owners seam to be American and swear a lot (badly too i mean who the hell can't spell **** right?)and say thier console > pc, but all the ps3 owners I know admit a good pc looks much better. Might be cause they own good pc's or have seen mine or azza's pc playing games.
