Is there any brand of 5850 that does not duel screen flicker

but isnt flashng the bois as dangerous as enriching uranium ?
the possibilities of bricking the card are there, then your stuck with with a wothless card

Flashing GPU's BIOS voids warranty anyway, doesn't matter if you brick it or not you won't have warranty.

It seems strange how last night I was reading a thread that suggested that the 5850 was and upgrade from a 275 GTX? It sounds like the 5*** series have more than an issue or two.

I'm using my 5850 for about 6 weeks now, never had a single problem with it yet. Great card!

Oh and BTW, I overclocked it using MSI Afterburner without flashing BIOS. It works a treat, you will loose powerplay that way, but I only use it when I need it.

Do at little research and you will find the correct way to disable powerplay with afterburner.

1.Navigate to the MSI afterburner folder in programe files.

2.open the MSIAfterburner CFG file with note pad.

3.Look up EnableUnofficialOverclocking and change the value from 0 to 1 save and exit, restart afterburner.

4.For it to work you need to overclock your card, anything over the default clocks will disable powerplay.

Done that but its @ 400/1000 (but i have never set it to that) 3d does 950/1200

Hi, I get the exact same problem with my 5870. I have two moniters, and when I overclock the card I get the stuttering and flickering you mention. I think its a driver problem as loads of people are having it, only with two moniters apparently. If you google the problem, you will find loads of others saying the same thing!
