Is there any brand of 5850 that does not duel screen flicker

^^^
If you start a support ticket with the manufacturer they will give you a new bios to flash without voiding your warranty. Besides bricking your card is VERY unlikely and if you have another GPU you can use that to recover the bad flash.

Beware of sapphire Bios's though as they block overclocking.

It's literally a two minute job...

Flashing GPU's BIOS voids warranty anyway, doesn't matter if you brick it or not you won't have warranty.

Not really true, technically your warranty is only invalid if you brick your card with a bad flash, however it's very easy to fix a card with a bad flash.

They only say that to cover people trying to flash a card when they don't have a clue what they're doing.

In addition, new bioses are released by manufacturers every so often to fix bugs and that so it's not really as simple as you've made out.

Basically there's no way of them finding out that you've flashed your bios especially if you flash it back to stock if it ever needs to be sent for RMA.

Hmm the whole idea of flashing GPU's BIOS is to use ASUS' or MSI's BIOS to be able to fully overclock using their BIOS and their software. So if you have XFX 5850 XXX (like me) and flash BIOS to MSI's, I'm pretty sure they will find out that you/me flashed it.

Besides if you brick the card during flashing, you won't be able to return to your old BIOS.
