Is there anything wrong with drinking tap water?

Dispite traces of prozac and estrogen being found in some water supplies in the UK... Nah, nothing wrong with it at all. So long as you don't want to grow the boobiez and feel a bit down.

Well considering prozac is an anti-depressant, if anything it will have a positive effect.

Glasgow water is really bad :(
I rekon its just water in/around big cities thats bad tho. All my housemates claim the water here is no diff from the water they get at home (Edinburgh + Dundee) but the water in Inverness is sooooo much better.

The water in Dundee is far better than that in Glasgow. When I went to visit someone in Glasgow a few years back they were actually surprised I was wanting, and able, to drink the water . And yes, the water in Inverness is better still :).

So I disagree with your flatmates :p.

Water here in doncaster seems bloody terrible to me. Wouldn't drink it if i was paid.

Water back home in Scotland, tastes the same as most bottled waters.

I lived in manchester while doing a degree.

The Tap water was horrible.

I drank bottled water for 3 years until I got back to the east coast.
Same here. I'm in Salford and I don't dare drink the tapped stuff. Tesco Value Still bottled for me.

Trent water here and it's beautiful. Both in Leicester and Nottingham. Well, I assume it's Trent water as both areas are served by Severn Trent. Presumably it's very well treated though as when I used to kayak/canoe down at HPP, the signs were always warning us of Weils disease (or Trent Belly for those that know it ;)), don't fancy catching that now.

The water here in west kent is absomalutely lovely.

When i go to Wiltshire to visit my parents, there is a definate aftertaste to their water, along with gross looking deposits in the bottle of cups of tea + coffee. Makes you heave when you finally get to the bottom and theres stuff there :o

i had absolutely no problems drinking tap water until last summer when the water co upped the chlorine content.when we run a bath now the house smells like a swimming baths and tea is foul.got a bloke round to check it out and apparently its within guidelines.thank god for the britas water filter or i'd be forced to buy bottled for tea.

I've never had any problems drinking tap water at home. There's quite a bit of lime in the water in Fife, which doesn't look nice, but it tastes ok. I lived near Leeds one summer, and the tap water there was hard and horrible, so we had to buy use a filter or buy bottled :(.

Apparently there's a random urban myth/rumour that tap water nowadays contains really high levels of the female contraceptive pill...which might be a cause for the increase in manboobs/gynecomastia.

I usually don't drink the tap water here in Liverpool as I find it pretty disgusting compared to brita water filtered stuff....

Strange that, our water is known for being some of the best in the country. Most of it comes directly from the Peak District and is not too different to most bottled water you pay a fortune for.

I love the stuff, don't drink much else.

I live in Denton and agree, the water is fine. In fact I think the North West is the best place for water in England. It might well be different in a city though.. I can't remember the last time I drank tap water from within Manchester...

waters water tbh , unless im in a country where there ways of cleaning the water are medieval then theres now way im going to pay the premium for bottled water
