is this a bad idea?

whats so special about this v12? sureley if theres a fault it can be diagnosed like any other car

If there is going to be any issues with the V12 then they will happen around 100,000 miles. With this being at 150,000 and with a good service history those issues will have been sorted. You should see another 100,000 miles out of this car with ease.

A luxury bargain if you ask me.

ok so if the v12 is so bad and rare, (i knew it was rare but didnt no it was rubbish)

what about the v8?

It's not "rubbish", its rare, and complex. And IF anything were to go wrong it would cost you the earth to sort.

The v8 is a common engine to many BMW platforms, and as such isn't such a pain to diagnose, replace parts, or get service information for.

However, you really aren't the kind of owner I'd ever want to see get a decent example of any of the above cars.

Its not rubbish, but the V8 costs less to run but returns similar performance. Makes the V12 effectively pointless.

I'd rather a V12 over a V8 in something like a 7 Series just for the Hell of it.

Its a very bad idea and it will cost you an arm and a leg.

This is a fantastic idea, they are effortlessly reliable and if you know what a spanner looks like you can fix them no bother. It's the ideal car for you.

Make sure you get a really nice example as well, then treat it like crap

Am I missing something from a previous thread?

A set of plugs being twelve of them, 4 of which aren't directly accessible. That's just the tip of the ice berg, nothing to do with this engine is straight forward.

So? It must be possible to do them (Not that I suspect the plugs need doing *that* often anyway).

Yes, DannyW's idea of servicing involves getting brake pads from written off scrappers, using used oil, and selling cars on listed in auctions as "doesn't use a drop of oil, the sign of a good turbo" when the car had a failing turbo and drank oil like an alcoholic drinks special brew.

A car with a complex set of mechanicals is not a car that DannyW should ever be allowed within 12 foot of.

I heard he puts sawdust in the gearbox too.

Oh DannyW
DannyW
DannyW

He gets knocked down
But he get up again
And you're never going to keep him down
