Whats wrong with the OCZ? Or the WD Drive?

Also, is the Illuminated keyboard a good one as my nephew wants one that has backlighting!!

I'm with stu.

However it would be better if you could get the 5830. The new ati cards are due this quarter (oct is rumoured), might pay to wait and see what happens to prices.

Reason i suggest the 5830 is not only is it slightly better but as you have a xfire mobo that gfx card can xfire with another 5830 (obviously) or the 5850/70 once they really depreciate in price. If you have the 5770 you need another 5700 card you cant use the 5800s.

Other than that not bad at all

the green drive is a eco friendly 5400rpm upto 7200rpm drive, not good for performance.

gold ram has to many people complaining about it.

and im with hono about the 5830, you have a big screen, the 5830 has more umph.

Ok, thanks guys.

The 5770 1GB GDDR5 is still a good card though for the money? He won't be buying a 2nd card.

the 5770 would be ok but if you are going to spend more get a gtx 460 not a 5830.
the caviar green you have in your original post is meant for storage not running games and os's from so as stulid says get a sammy f3 or wd blue or black instead.
there has been a lot of ocz gold failures lately apparently so maybe some equivalent ram may be a good choice.

Chipps has a point. If you look through the threads the 460 does take the crown for bang for buck! Like i said it may pay to wait and see what happens to prices, if you opt for a nvidia 460 you dont need that 890 chipset mobo. I suggested the 5830 purely on the assumption you had xfire in mind.

Good luck with the build hope the nephew enjoys it

The keyboard is good from what I have read. When I no doubt ruin my MS Reclusa by spilling beer on it that is what I am planning on getting next.

The 5770 is a decent card but may struggle with the monitor. I that card earlier in the year and it is good value, but like others have said he will want some more juice. Monitor is all good it is what I have.

I have also just fitted a Samsung F3 into my rig and am very, very impressed with the speeds.

You may also wish to consider the case as for that money you can get this which I love - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-196-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=

Currently out of stock though and am not suprised it is awesome.

So, guys, the price is really fixed around £900 max. My nephew is gaming mad.

How come the GPU will struggle with the TFT? Can't see that myself.

What mobo / ram / GPU would be a better gaming combo while keeping the price as it is or lower. Can't afford to go £1 over!!
