Is this a reason to RMA?

Purgatory, i do remember you telling me to rma it but on those threads people did say that my card may actually be ok so i didnt. After seeing that i am going to do two final tests and then use my 8800 gtx. Ill have to wait until tomorrow for ocuk to get back to me but im sure that they will tell me to rma it

As if your EVGA water cooled job is going to be still running in your computer in 3yrs time (let alone 10 years) hehe.

Long warranties are great for those that upgrade once every 5-10 yrs and are not overclockers.
No idea why you would be going for a long warranty tho. (unless you like having parts covered that are stored up in your loft)

Dont care about length of warranty. Its more the cooler removal bit i like and also that upgrade scheme they now have. Also it is a pretty good selling point to have a long warranty and an evga card.

My8800 gtx had heat issues in the standard dell case and dell repkaces it twice. It works fine on my current system. 5850 might have been my fault as i think i did something. It was my first card for my first system. This card is truly ****** i have also got scythe cpu cooler and fans in my case. This is the only card ive had such hogh temps with.
 
I think ocuk will give me a refund as it is within 28 days. Ill ask for a voucher if they dont. Ocuk are awesome and i am disgusted with this card im sure they will be willing to refund me
 
You know, ill try the egg thing in an old abandoned system. One quesrion bedore i do, can my psu be damaged by this catd if i try the egg thing?
 
Reply from Ocuk: I have not heard of this problem before, i would probably suggest having a word with the manufacutrer directly to see if there is anything they can advise.
 
Ok thanks purgatory. I have stopped playing with the system but i was tempted. Ive emailed his and they should get back to me. Hopefully telling me to rma
 
His said to stop ising the card and rma immediately. They said the cooler mau not be on properly and the eraticness my have been by me reseating the card and pushing the cooler back into place. Sound about right? Purgatory, i should have listened to you in the first place
 
I didnt listen earlier because other people said other thingstgat were contradictory. Also, my 8 pin and 6 pin are out of line aswell is that a problem?

admittedly burning my hand was an over exaggeration, but you couldn't hold it , it was kind of like a radiator warming up

Yeas, true. But TBH, the 6970 was a dissapointment - lets just see who brings out the best dual chip card
 
Ccc, gpuz and afterburner all had the same temp. My cpu reached a max of 47. That was after hours of gaming. The cpu fan on my scythe nonja was set to low aswell
