I have been having many problems with my 6970. Here is the idle temp today - all i was doing was checking emails.

Temps were 80 degrees c

Can i RMA for this reason?

my problem is that sometimes it does work, but then other times it doesn't and i don't want the postage bill from OcUK. Is there any way to tell for certain? i'll do some benchmarks and be back soon.

just tried heaven benchmark. Got to the bit with the dragon statue and froze @ 95 degrees. I had to shut down computer with power button. When computer restarted i **** my pants because i thought a plane was about to hit the house. card is now idling at 60 degrees with fans at 50%

If it always idle's at that temperature then there should be no reason to doubt that it's fault. My card doesn't even get that hot after hours of gaming.

My main problem is, tht sometimes when i start my computer, the card is fine, no major issues, then other times it idles at 70. Most of the time the card is at 60/55. Does this mean that it is faulty?(or just obscenely inconsistent?)

Hi I know it doesn't matter now but if you check here - http://imageshack.us/content.php?page=uploader

Download that program, then when you upload a pic you can change the resolution before uploading it to 320x320 with a click of a button. :)

Thanks, i'll download it right now

'all i was doing was checking emails'

lol

If a reboot doesnt sort the problem, then yea, I think the card is busted.

Yeah, that really takes the ****, especially as i just won £1,000,000 - i was really looking forward to simply depositing the £700 needed to secure my money. LOL

Why? its clearly not supposed to run like that. You do get one offs with defective products. Not even Nvidia are perfect.

Edit: i think within 28 days you can get a refund (dont quote me on that) but after that they can either refund you or replace it. You could probably have the value against a different card tho (Depending on age)

No its just that nvidia seem to be the winners at the moment. Also if i want to liquid cool i dont think that any ati manufacturers allow you to remove the cooler. Nvidia also has better 3d from what ive heard and evga seem to have the best warranty and they only do nvidia. Please correct me if im wrong on any of this
