On a similar note, what is it with African people buying trolleys full of bottled water in supermarkets? Do they not trust the mains supply or something?

That's nothing, at my old place my boss used to buy every member of staff a crate of booze, bottle of spirit etc plus a tin/box of chocolates. Me and another manager would go to Tesco's and get staff pushing shipping crates around as we filled them up. Usually around £3500 of stuff. In fact it bust the till and the girlf had to call the manager as the till total was above the limit!

We used to do the same years back at Makro so that we wouldn't have to nip out every other day to resupply at the offies or something over the holidays.

I do the same with bogroll and beer at Makro, get some right weird looks with my pallet truck-sized trolley stacked up high with the stuff.

I thought readers would have known, to take a snap, snapped it up, as that's how I say it to people IRL and people understand. Sorry for the confusion.

To take a snap is a photographic thing.

To snap something up is to buy it, generally quickly, due to it being a very good purchase for some reason.

You'll find that's how 99% of people understand those terms :p

Thanks! I somehow thought that the 2 were related :p I'm sure the 3-4 people I've already told knew what I meant though coz I was showing them the picture on my phone as I was explaining.
