Hi all, my mate has offered to buy my e8400 duo based pc i built a few months ago, and i fancied trying an amd build anyways, so i sold it, for the price it cost me to build, so i didnt loose out really.

Since this is my first amd build I would be thankful if you could take a look at it and let me know a) is everything compatable, b) should i change anything, and c) have i missed anything out :O

Thanks in advance.

instead of using ["URL"] use ["IMG"] that will actually display the image in full straight in the post
build looks v good, only one thing to change is the DVD drive, get one with a SATA connections instead of IDE

Hey why not jump the i7 lane you can configure a pc with that kinda of money!!!!!!!!

Because I dont think it would give me any gaming performance increase at all? and it would be the 920 i7 which would actually run slower for day to day things? Or have i got that wrong.

You're right you have had some solid suggestions for your money. You know what you want out of your system and the components you've had selected will be very capable for your needs and they have the benefit of being cheaper ,overall, than an i7 equivalent. (if you dropped that memory that is ;))

Not really, that looks like a lot of entertainment and great value.

You could drop the VISTA and experiment with Windows 7? If you like it you can update next year to the retail edition - if you don't buy the VISTA.

It's a great OS and most things that run on 64 bit Vista will run on Win 7 64.
