Hi,

I have a fairly old Seagate 7200.10 320GB HDD and just wondering if this performance is any good ?

It is in my HTPC which feels a bit slow, worth upgrading ?

Thanks

Not the best perf ever, but I would stick with this - it's OK, and works. Don't fix what works. Unless you go with really expensive stuff, best you can hope from an upgrade is a 10-15 MB/s REAL boost on average.

is that your main os drive?

looks ok comparing it to another 720.10 320

but still fairly slow, get a 500gb f3 if you want a boost and quietness

or a ssd if you want to spend some money

THanks for the replies.

It's for my HTPC so no way would I spend money on SSD on it. The PC just feels a bit sluggish, that's all really.

Plan to get a CPU upgrade soon, but thought i'd double check about the HDD aswell. Guess it isn't too bad for a 2/3 year old drive.
