I have just cut and pasted from Office so ignore the formatting and the like. It's just the content I am asking for your opinion.

My wife is looking to change jobs and this position has come to her attention and she is eager to land an interview at least. I personally think she will get one and has a great chance at getting the job. So.. CV is it any good? Anything needs adding, moving etc.

Same help applies to the cover letter below the CV.:)

Dear

I am interested in applying for the position of cook at the White house nursery, Oakwood as seen on the Indeed website. I feel that my knowledge and skills in this role can be of added benefit to your business. I can be available from August 2016.

The position you have available interests me as I would like to expand my job skill set and possibly move on to other roles within your business if the opportunity arises. I am eager to expand my knowledge and feel that the position you're offering will be of benefit to both, myself and your business. I would like to be part of a team that cares for children and help in their development.

This role is something that I would consider very important to a child as I think having fresh, great tasting, and a variety of meals is good for the children as they will learn about healthy eating and trying new foods. I can provide this with the knowledge I have gained over the last three years.

I am currently a cook within a small team in a busy canteen that is part of a multi million pound business. We cater for an average of 60 staff members per day and on occasion, larger numbers as we are a core store that holds meetings.

Regards,

Able to adapt to knew policies and procedures as they become live

Might want to correct the spelling

Working under pressure and still maintain excellent standards.
I'd personally change a work around and put "Working under pressure whilst still maintaining excellent standards".

Taking payments for meals during the trading day and subsequently handing over the sales to a senior manager.

I'd consider changing senior manager to senior management, makes it sound like it's more than just reporting to a single person.

I would like to be part of a team that cares for children and helps in their development.
Added an 's'.
This role is something that I would consider very important to a child as I think having fresh, great tasting and varied meals will be good for the children

I think these above makes the statements flow a bit easier and is better from a reading point of view, but I'm sure others will follow with better advice.

I do apologise but I have totally stolen that and amended it for my own as I am 35 and have never had to do a CV and the last one I did was so bad they only called me in because they knew the person.... lol

Should be fine I reckon, one thing I would say is research into whether one needs a DBS check or whatever to work in that capacity at a nursery so she can be prepared for any questions about criminal convictions and the like.

Hangtime. She has spoken to the lady in charge on the phone yesterday. The check was mentioned among other things they discussed and my wife is aware of it etc. The lady has emailed her the application form and arranged interview for next week iirc. I presume the CV and letter did what it needed to do.:)

So, good on you wifey. Well done. So pleased for her and I really hope she will get this job as she needs something extra in her life.
