Is this hard drive on its way out?

Hi.
I occasionally get windows vista completely pausing for a few second, while something sounds like its spinning back up.
Im fairly sure its the sound that my Hitachi HDD makes when it spins up.

The power management is set right, so i wondered if there was a possible reason the drive was doing that?

However, my intervals arnt quite as often as those claimed there. :confused:

If you start getting delayed writes or failed writes in the event logs id be backing up what I could asap.

Cant see any.

Im putting it down to that windows update thats causing it.

Are the hard drives set to spin down after a few minutes in power saver. If so turn that off. I know you said otherwise, but check the advanced settings
