How old is she?

DOC extension (TPFT cover for other cars) is almost certainly NOT included on her policy if she is under 25, regardless of whether she is insured comprehensively or not.

Shes 36 ;)

Just a side note, i'm insured with HIC and am 21 with TPFT cover and i get DOC :D, also get driving abroad, track days, £1500 of modifications to the body and 10% hike in BHP all thrown in and it was the cheapest quote to boot! :D

Yup, HIC for the win:D. I'll be phoning them as soon as I 21 to see if my policy can be ammended to add DOC. Shame so many people miss out on HIC as they can't be arsed to pick up a phone to get a quote...

A lot of people seem to make this unbelievable stupid mistake of some weird phrase called 'fully comp' which doesnt really exist..

Comprehensive insurance does though. Fully comp is a thing of the past.

Whether you THINK you are fully comp or not does not mean you can drive anybody elses car 3rd party.

Most comprehensive policies will state that you can drive another car 3rd party with the owners permission. If your policy does not STATE this, then you ARE NOT COVERED to drive another car TPFT.

If you have comprehensive insurance, you sometimes have to be over 25 (or 21) to even qualify to drive another car 3rd party.

Please read your policy details properly when you get them, dont just put them in the drawer!!

OP, it may be easier to add your mum to your policy....alternatively direct her to day insure if its just for a day or two!
