is this monitor good?

I hear the HannsG is OK, not the best quality but OK considering the price and size. Please note this is a 60Hz monitor (compared to the LG which is 120Hz).

I wouldn'y suggest touching the "OCUK" (iiyama) monitor as it seems to have some "quality control" issues.

No idea why the price of the LG is £275 on OCUK, must be a reflection of the price they got it for from their supplier (a few months ago this would have been a pretty good price for a nice quality 23in 120Hz monitor).

I would say so, since it an extremely responsive monitor and when hooked up to a PC you get to use it in full 120Hz 2D mode for some very smooth gaming (not to mention the option of 3D with the nvidia kit).

Aargh really want it now but I need to see if I can sell my monitor first to get the money but I've no idea what I should sell it for :(

If you make a thread in the pricecheck sub-forum of the members market you should get some of idea of what your current monitor is worth.

Edit: just saw your thread, i'll post a suggestion there.

wooo ive found the LG for £145! :D

Cool, though make sure you get it from somewhere which is known to have good customer service, as if you have any issues with it you want to get it sorted fast with the least amount of hassle.

I should also point out that OCUK has just slashed their price on the LG to be more competitive - its now £168 (and you get free delivery).

yeah its from the rainforest and its got free delivery :)

Are you sure you're looking at the right monitor? I know the 'fruits of the rainforest' like the back of my hand and there is no way the LG is £145 on that. It is also out of stock with the main forest although other branches sell it. If that makes sense. ;)

Edit: You're buying it used?

I would always be cautious about buying a customer returned monitor. It is possible somebody just changed their mind about it which means you'll get a good monitor at a discount. On the other hand, although the rainforest checks to see that it 'works' there could be things that made the original purchaser unhappy and would have the same effect on you. They are very good with returns, that's true, but as cmndr_andi points out you forgo the manufacturer warranty. Maybe not so much of a problem given the relatively low price but that's easy enough for one person to say to another. :)

Educated opinion suggests that the LG is more responsive in practice and overall a better quality bit of kit. Given the price, that's quite something! Don't let your mind wander ;).

no I was just saying :p it's just cos of the styling as the stand is orange and it would fit in with my case :)
