is this monitor good?

I wouldn't worry about it, the Dell 2407WFP-HC is well know for having very high input lag (average 34ms) and there was some ghosting issues with the early revisions at least. This monitor would be fine as a work monitor (due to large res, good contrast, decent viewing angles and colour accuracy when calibrated) but for gaming it really isn't ideal.
 
ok thanks for putting my mind at ease cmndr_andi :) on that website it's suggesting a Samsung SM2233RZ and a ViewSonic VX2268wm they're both 1650x1080 so I'm thinking that they're worse than the LG are they?

Aye, the 2233RZ and Viewsonic are both 22in 1650x1080 monitors. The reason they were highlighted is they are very responsive (in terms of ghosting and response time it sounds like they are even better than the LG), but this has to be weighed against other factors like size, resolution, overall image quality and price.
 
is it worth waiting to see what those new samsung 3d monitors will be like and also how much they cost or do you think they will be way over £200?
