Is this normal?

Hi all,
i store games, music etc. on a second hard drive.
is it normal that if nothing has been accessed on it for a few minutes that it should take a few seconds to start up.
i find that i will get like a small bit of lag and then everything on that drive from that point on is smooth and quick.

So as i said, is this normal?

Yeah its turning off, goto your power options and check the plan. Its probably been set to switch off

No worries, can you tell I had it happen to me.. I thought I was going mad or my drive was exploding. I dont get this feature on desktops/when a power cable is plugged in.. seems a bit prehistoric. I understand it for laptops but oh well, I'm glad its fixed for ya
